I am extremely happy to be part of USD #274 Oakley Elementary staff. I am actually employed through the Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center, but I get to spend all my working days at Oakley Elementary. I provide special education services to students kindergarten through fourth grade at Oakley Elementary and St. Joseph’s School. I also am actively involved in the SIT (Student Intervention Team) process for students who are struggling in the classroom and have been referred to the team by their classroom teacher.
Some of my duties include DIBELing with all students at Oakley Elementary K - 4. DIBELing represents “Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills” in the areas of math and reading. Reading is assessed one on one and math is completed as a class in the computer lab. Students are assessed three times a year. |
There is absolutely no way I could do my job without the support of the paraprofessionals here at Oakley Elementary.
